Patea River Mouth
Patea River Mouth is a beach break on a sandy beach located at the Mouth of the Patea River. You can surf on both sides of the river mouth or sometimes right up into the river mouth, but usually best of the south side. The wave is punchy and hollow. Good for all levels of surfer. Watch out, river mouths often have strong currents and rips.

From Wanganui head north on London Street, Great North Road, State Highway 3. At Patea turn left onto Egmont Street, then continue onto Taranaki Road, down to the beach. Paddle across the river to get to the south side.
