Diners Beach

Diners Beach is a beach break on a golden sand beach, located on Mahia Peninsula's south east coast. The beach is quite long with several peaks down the beach to choose from offering both right and left handers. Mahia South East Coast is fairly remote and you may find the beach all to yourself. The waves are often punchy and powerful. Mahia South East Coast is very exposed, so usually has good swell but also gets strong on shore winds, so pick your day by viewing all the reports. Suitable for all levels of surfer.

Last Chance

Last Chance is a left hand point break on a boulder beach, located just past Lake Rotopounamu, across farmers land. The waves are fast and hollow, top quality waves. Suitable for intermediate to expert surfers.

Happy Jacks

Happy Jacks is a beach break on a sandy beach with boulder points and a small island in the middle. Happy jacks is located in the next bay round to the north of Mahanga Point, Happy Jacks Boat Harbour, which requires either a long paddle around the point or walk across farms land, with permission. There are several peaks to choose from with both right and left handers available. The waves are punchy and fun. Suitable for intermediate to expert surfers.

Mahanga Point

Mahanga Point is a left hand point break on a sandy beach with a boulder point, located at the northern end of Mahanga Beach. The waves are soft but wally, and give nice long rides. Good for mals and shortboards. Suitable for all levels of surfer.

Mahanga Beach

Mahanga beach is a beach break on a sandy beach, located north of mahia on a long stretch of beach. There are several peaks with both right nad left handers. The waves are punchy and fun, suitable for all levels of surfer.

Oraka Beach

Oraka beach is a beach break on a sandy beach, located at the mouth of the Kopuawhara Stream/Estuary. There are several peaks with both right and left handers. The waves are punchy and fun, suitable for all levels of surfer.

Old Mans

Old Mans is a beach break on a sandy/rocky beach, located at the bottom of some cliffs, just north of Mahia. There are several peaks with both right nad left handers. The waves are soft and fat, good for learners and mals. Suitable for all levels of surfer.

The Spit - Mahia

The Spit at Mahia has a right and left point break along the sides of a long, narrow, rocky spit. The Spit is located just south of the Mahia township, you can't miss it when your driving past.The left is often slightly better than the right, but both sides of the spit are top quality. The waves are steep and hollow, steep dropins and good barrels. Leave this one to the experts.
