Ocean Beach is a sandy beach break, with many peaks down the beach both to the north and south. Can be a solid wave with sand boil ups, and sometimes a hard paddle when theres a big swell. Popular with the locals. Ok for surfers of all levels.

From Hastings head east on Heretaunga Street East, which turns into Havelock Road, through to Havelock North. In Havelock North turn left onto Karanema Drive, then turn left onto Te Mata Road. Turn right onto Waimarama Road. Follow the road for a while then turn left onto Ocean beach Road. Takes this to the end of the road, at Ocean beach and find a park in the car park on the north side of Waikoukou Stream.
