Mohaka
Mohaka is a beach break on a sandy beach at the Mohaka river mouth. There are several peaks along the beach to choose from with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy, powerful, and fun. Good for intermediate to expert surfers. River mouths often have strong currents and rips, so watch out.

Directions
From Napier city head west on Thackeray Street, then continue onto Hyderabad Road, State Highway 2. Continue on State Highway 2, then turn right onto Main North Road, State Highway 2 out of Napier heading north. Continue north until you get to Mohaka and turn right onto Mohaka Township Road, which will turn to gravel further along. Then turn right onto Mohaka Coast Road, then left onto East Beach Road, down to the beach on the east side on the river. You can also carry on across the river and down to the west side of the river.
