Oraka beach is a beach break on a sandy beach, located at the mouth of the Kopuawhara Stream/Estuary. There are several peaks with both right and left handers. The waves are punchy and fun, suitable for all levels of surfer.

Directions
From Napier, head north on Pandora Road State Highway 2, onto Meeanee Quay and Main North Road out of the city. Continue on State Highway 2 through Wairoa, then at Nuhaka go straight through the roundabout onto Nuhaka Opoutama Road. Continue along Nuhaka Opoutama Road, turn right onto Ormond Drive. WHen you get to Mahia beach, continue straight ahead onto Mahia East Coast Road. The road will cut across to the east coast of mahia peninsula and down the coast. When you reach the east coast turn left onto Oraka Road, down to the river mouth.
