Daniels Reef
Daniels Reef is a rocky beach break located just north of Mathesons Bay, in Leigh, on the East Coast north of Auckland. There is one main peak with both right and left-handers. The wave is hollow with barrels on offer. Good for intermediate to expert surfers. This is a popular beach so know the rules and respect the locals. Watch out for swimmers.

Daniels Reef is located just north of Mathesons Bay, in Leigh, on the East Coast north of Auckland.
From Auckland, head north on Auckland Northern Motorway, State Highway 1, over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. At Warkworth, turn right onto Sandspit Road, then left onto Matakana Road. Continue straight onto Leigh Road, continue onto Hauraki Road, then turn right onto Wonderview Road down to the beach.
