Tawharanui
Tawharanui is a beach break on a sandy/rocky beach, located south of Omaha, on the Tawharanui Peninsula. This break is also known as Anchor Bay. There are several peaks along the beach to choose from with both right and left-handers. The wave is punchy and fun. Good for all levels of surfer. Popular beach so know the rules and respect the locals. Watch out for swimmers.

Tawharanui is located south of Omaha, on the Tawharanui Peninsula - East Coast, north of Auckland.
From Auckland, head north on Auckland Northern Motorway/State Highway 1, over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. At Warkworth, turn right onto Sandspit Road, then left onto Matakana Road. Continue straight onto Leigh Road, then turn right onto Takatu Road. Turn left and follow the road around to the north side of the peninsula and find a golden sand beach. From here find a good peak along the beach.
