Waiwera
Waiwera is a beach break/reef break on a sandy beach, located at the mouth of the Waiwera River on Aucklands east coast. Its a paddle across the mouth of the river to get to the break. There is one main peak with both a right and left hander. The wave is short and hollow, good fun. Good for intermediate to expert surfers. River mouths often have strong currents or rips.

Waiwera is located at the mouth of the Waiwera River on Aucklands east coast.
From Auckland, head north on Auckland Northern Motorway, State Highway 1, over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Take exit 394, then turn right onto Grand Road. Turn left onto West Hoe Road, then left onto Hibiscus Coast highway. Turn right onto Waiwera Road, then left again to stay on Waiwera Road. Turn left on The Strand along to the river mouth. From here its a paddle across the river to the break.
