Karekare
Karekare is a beach break on a sandy beach, located just south of Piha on Aucklands west coast. There are several peaks along the beach with both right and left handers. The wave is punchy and hollow, with barrels on offer. Theres a good left hand barrel at the south end of the beach. Good for intermediate to expert surfers. Surf club located on Karekare beach.

Karekare is located just south of Piha on Aucklands west coast.
From Auckland head west on the North Western Motorway, State Highway 16. Take exit 14 left onto Te Atatu Road. Turn right onto Edmonton Road. Turn right onto Alderman Drive, then left to continue on Alderman Drive. Continue onto Henderson Valley Road. Turn left onto Forest Hill Road. Turn right onto West Coast Road, then right onto Scenic Drive, and left onto Piha Road. Before you get to Piha turn left onto Karekare Road and down to Karekare Beach.
